RealCow Joins Downunder Horsemanship

We are excited to welcome a partnership with RealCow starting this year. RealCow is a remote-controlled, mechanical cow that was created with one goal in mind: help horsemen save money, train smarter and win bigger.

The idea came from Billy Wier, the owner and mastermind behind RealCow. Billy is a Clemson University graduate with a degree in Biosystems Engineering who blended his degree with his passion for horses.

Billy grew up competing in team roping and calf roping through high school and college before starting his career training rope horses. In 2001, he transitioned into training cutting horses and has since built an impressive resume. Today, Billy is based in his hometown of Barnwell, South Carolina, where he trains horses alongside his wife, Myra, and their two sons, Grant and Harris.

Like many trainers, especially those on the East Coast, Billy ran into a common problem: good cattle are expensive, hard to find and not always consistent. That makes it difficult to train a cow horse, so Billy went to work engineering a solution.

The result is RealCow—a mechanical cow that moves, stops and reacts like a good live cow, giving horses and riders the realistic feel they need without the ongoing cost and hassle of cattle.

“When I saw the RealCow in action, I knew I needed to have one for my training program,” Clinton says. “It’s been one of the greatest things for my cow horses, and best of all, it is easy to operate. The RealCow lets me set up specific training situations to build my horses’ confidence. It’s been a game changer.”

Built out of necessity and inspired by years of Billy’s tinkering, RealCow makes effective training more affordable and accessible. It’s available in four models: cutting, reined cow horse, calf roping and breakaway roping. It’s easy enough for non-pros and amateurs to operate, yet advanced enough to meet the demands of serious trainers.

Proudly manufactured in the United States, RealCow represents smart, practical innovation for horsemen at every level. Learn more about the advantages of using RealCow and the different models available on the RealCow website.

We’re proud to welcome RealCow to the Downunder Horsemanship family and look forward to a great partnership ahead.
